I toured/stayed in the house in 2000 & will be revisiting (tour only) in May 2015. After the tour, are visitors allowed to take an extra 15 minutes or so to get photos? I'm working on a book re: Lizzie Borden & would like to take as many pictures as possible both inside & outside the house. I'm also visiting other Lizzie sights in Fall River & will get numerous pictures there, too. Thanks.

I grew up in RI, always hearing about Lizzie and the murders, my dad would try and scare me in my youth, by telling me we were related to Lizzie, I think I was so young I actually believed him. I was never able to visit the house but had a mother who didn't approve of a young girl going to visit the house of an alleged murderess so I kind of forgot about it. My mom passed away a year ago today and I had my father move in with my husband and my family. We started talking about Lizzie one afternoon last week and I informed my dad that you had hourly house tours and I wanted to take him, he agreed to go so we're coming tomorrow. It 45 years for me to finally come to see my "relative", Lizzie Borden. It's going to be a great father/daughter day!!

Hi Catherine,
The 2 nearest airports are Boston, MA (about 45 minutes from the house) and Providence, RI. which is about 35 minutes from the house. Hope this helps,

You can call the house during the month prior to the reenactment and reserve tickets for a particular time. Availability is limited for each show so as soon as you see that the tickets are on sale call to reserve your spot. We announce the exact date tickets go on sale via email if you are a registered member of the Lizzie Community, on our Facebook page and on the home page of the web site.

Hi Kimberly,
This has been a topic of discussion for some time by all of us that play parts in the reenactment. As of now the answer is no. August 4th is the only day that this takes place. Maybe you can gather all your friends and relatives together and get a petition going to sway the powers to be into making this event happen more often. There has also been talk of a other such projects in the works. We will see what the spirits bring us.

Hi I am thinking about coming this August possibly on August 4th which would be the reenactment date. I was just wondering what exactly happens during the reenactment and how it differs from the standard tour. I was also wondering if there will be regular tours the day of the reenactment. Please let me know! Thanks

-3 # Jerry Pacheco 2014-07-18 22:44
Hello Maggie,
There are no regular tours on the day of the reenactment. What happens on the day of the reenactment is you start outside the house and when your group enters the house you are transported back in time to the day of the murders and escorted through the house while the "Peppy Players", in period clothing and speech, reenacting the details of that infamous day. There are also raffles and prizes given away!
Hope this answers your question?

Is all the furniture in the house original? And I heard she didn't stab her parents 40-41 times is was 18-19 .-.
Reply | Reply with quote | Quote | Report to administrator
+1 # Lee ann 2014-06-18 10:18
Hi Madyson,
The furniture in the house is not the original. It is period antique and reproduction. After Lizzie and Emma moved out in 1893, they took what they wanted with them and the rest of the furniture was placed into storage. No one is quite sure what became of it after that.
And the total of hits with a hatchet to Mrs. Borden were 19 and Mr. Borden received 11.
I hope this answers your questions.

Yours,

Hello Angel,
Yes there is a reenactment every year on the Anniversary, August 4th and there may even be more days this year that the reenactment may take place. We are contemplating running 3 days do to the over whelming response of people coming to see the Pear Essential Players. And the Anniversary falls on a Monday this year and this is another consideration as to why we may run the reenactment for the entire weekend and Monday.
Hope to see you there!

Hi!

I've played Alice Russell a couple of times in the LZZIE rock musical... I've done so much research about the house and the family and the investigation, and am curious if there's any chance of paying extra for a longer tour (but a bit less than the $200 a night that this poor starving artist can't quite afford...)? Hope so!!!

Thanks so much--

PS A group of my friends and I spent the night last year and we had a great time. I highly recommend staying over at the Lizzie Borden B & B. It is a once in a lifetime experience. To stay over in the house is like stepping back in time. We plan on staying another night hopefully this fall.

A group of friends and I will be in the Boston area this August and I'm so hoping we can stop by for a tour and possibly even stay the night. Depending on the day you come in August will be a big factor of weather you will be able to stay the night. August is one of the busiest months here at the bed & breakfast. You might want to make a reservation if you plan on staying the evening. You can reserve a room right on line here at the top of the page under "Reserve a Room". :zzz
As for guest experiences and the sort, you can scan the Facebook link, again at the top of the page, last item on the main menu. We will soon be implementing a blog for registered users to leave comments, experiences, feeling, finding and anything else they wish express on the site.
If yo are a registered user, you will receive an email upon it's arrival. ;-)
