Oak Grove Cemetery Tour

The Lizzie Borden House is pleased to announce the launch of its newest experience, the Oak Grove Cemetery Tombstone Tour. This is a must do experience and the first guided tour of Oak Grove Cemetery, launched on March 1, 2024. The resting place for many famous Fall River residents, Oak Grove Cemetery is the site of the Borden Autopsy site and graves of the Borden family, including Lizzie, her sister Emma, murdered father Andrew and stepmother Abby.

This tour will not only talk about and visit the graves of the players involved in the Borden murders, but other members of the Borden family, renowned veterans of past wars including a Medal of Honor recipient, a famous baseball player from the 1880s, an exhilarating female author and explorer, other true crime stories, and much more.

The tour lasts about one hour and about 1.5 miles of walking, with the option to take the extended tour that adds an additional 30 minutes to the tour and new stories and sites.

What is Oak Grove Cemetery?

Oak Grove Cemetery is a historic cemetery established in 1855 and located in Fall River, 1.5 miles from the Lizzie Borden House, at 765 Prospect Street. The cemetery boasts ornate gothic revival architecture, such as the elaborate arch at its entrance made from locally sourced granite.

Q: Do you offer transpiration to the cemetery?
A: No, all parties are responsible for their own transportation. This is a walking tour inside the cemetery. You can either walk there from the house, drive and park nearby and then walk to the cemetery or take a ride share.

Q: How much walking is involved?
A: 1 to 1.5 miles.

Q: Are Tours Held Rain or Shine?
A: Yes. If the tour is cancelled for any reason, we will inform you.

A: Yes, and much more.

Q: When is the cemetery open?
A: Hours are subject to change, but currently they are open from 7am to 3pm daily, and until 7pm on Tuesdays.
